Your Essential Tech Pack Checklist for Apparel

Before you send a single file to a factory, make sure your
tech pack has everything on this list.

1. 2D CAD flat sketches

Front, back, and detail views serve as the factory's primary reference.
These should include technical flats, close-up construction details,
stitching and topstitching placement, and the exact positioning of
pockets, zippers, and hardware. 

2. Detailed dimensions and construction callouts

Specify measurements, stitch types, seam allowances, fasteners, 
lining, custom hardware, label placement, and any special finishes or
treatments.

3. Sizing information and graded spec table

If your size chart is missing, factories default to their own standards.
Include your base size measurements, grade increments across
your full size run, and a point of measure diagram for each style.
*A graded spec table only applies to apparel tech packs.

4. Colorways with Pantone references

No Pantone number means no guarantee your sample comes
back the right color. Specify your Pantone TPX or TPG codes per
colorway, color placement by material or panel, and your thread
and hardware color matches.

5. Your logo, branding, and material placement guides

Your factory needs to know exactly where every logo, label, and
branded element lives on the garment. Include placement
measurements, attachment method, and a material placement
diagram for each colorway.

6. Bill of Materials

BOM is a complementary document that matches your tech pack and material placement guide. It lists every material used to construct the product, including body material, lining, thread, hardware, zippers, trims, and any other components your factory needs to source or confirm before production begins.

7. Reference photos and design direction

Visual context your factory can't get from sketches alone. Include inspiration images, AI renderings, fit references, and any existing samples that show the look, drape, or finish you're aiming for.
